VDT Ty.....

  • Red
  • Teroldego
Imported by: Louis Dressner

Winemaking Information

Fermentation with native yeasts and up to 30% whole-clusters; maceration lasts several weeks. Unlike Nusserhof's other reds, the Teroldego is aged in used Burgundian barriques instead of botti, but for a similar length as the others: at least 2.5 years in wood followed by years in bottle. A small amount of S02 is added roughly six months after fermentations are finished and at bottling.
SO2: During winemaking
Fining/Filtration: Light filtration at bottling (non sterile)

Vineyard Information

Appellation: Vino Rosso
Soil Composition: Alluvial, Sand
Farming: Organic (certified)

Fun Facts: Because this wine is declassified to Vino Rosso, it cannot list the variety or vintage outright on the label. For many years the Mayrs got away with intentionally misspelling the grape as Tyroldego, but eventually got caught, hence the "Ty......." on the current labels.
